A Message from our founders

Food has always been about more than just eating - it’s about family, tradition, and the memories created around the table. Some of our most treasured moments come from kitchens filled with laughter, early mornings spent cooking alongside loved ones, and recipes passed down through generations.

Inspired by those traditions, we created Lola’s Cocina - a place where every dish tells a story. After years of working together at Phil Sandoval’s Mexican Restaurante, we wanted to build something new - a tribute to the authentic flavors and vibrant spirit of the family kitchens we grew up in.

At Lola’s, we honor the recipes that shaped our childhoods, crafting each plate with the same love and care that filled our homes. From our family to yours, we invite you to gather, share a meal, and make new memories with us.

Sincerely,

LOLA’S COCINA

THE STORY Behind the name

Phil Sandoval’s mother was known as Dolores, but everyone affectionately called her “Lola” throughout her lifetime. Lola was an extraordinary mother, raising four children single-handedly.

She instilled in them a strong work ethic, and her passion for life, particularly in the kitchen, was truly remarkable. In a heartfelt tribute, we honor the memory of Ms. Lola, who left us in July 2020.

Most of the delectable recipes featured at Lola’s Cocina had their origins in Lola’s own kitchen. Her spirit lives on in our exciting new venture, where we proudly bear her name - Dolores Sandoval.
